BERKELEY — A person was struck and killed Tuesday morning by an Amtrak prepare, authorities stated.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau didn’t launch his identification pending affirmation and notification of his subsequent of kin. He’s believed to be in his 40s.
The person was on the tracks close to Gilman Avenue when he was hit by Amtrak Capitol Hall Practice 529 about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, authorities stated. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
Nobody on board the prepare was injured.
The prepare, which was en path to San Jose, was delayed till about midday whereas authorities investigated.
The fatality is the second in Berkeley this month the place an individual was hit by an Amtrak prepare.
On Oct. 4, about 5:35 p.m., a lady later recognized by the coroner’s workplace as Selana Williams, 56, was struck and killed by a prepare close to Harrison Avenue.
