Over thirty persons are lifeless after heavy rains and floods within the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, state governor Eduardo Leite stated Wednesday.

Leite visited the catastrophe space on Wednesday morning and pledged on social media that no effort can be spared to rebuild the houses and infrastructure destroyed by the rising waters.

The storm is predicted to proceed impacting the area for the remainder of the week.

In keeping with CNN’s regional affiliate CNN Brasil, this week’s rains are the worst pure catastrophe to hit the state in 40 years.

Brazilian meteorologist Dr. Maria Clara Sassaki advised CNN Brasil that inside every week the state had obtained the common quantity of rainfall anticipated for all the month of September.

This week’s rains are the fourth excessive climate occasion in Rio Grande do Sul within the final three months, in response to Leite.
