A Rialto man has been arrested after the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division acquired round 7,000 non-emergency spam calls from an unknown quantity, authorities introduced Friday.
Between April and July 2023, SBSD personnel had been prevented from attending to respectable emergency calls because of the harassing spam calls, the company mentioned.
An investigation into the identification of the caller led to the caller being recognized as Luke Edwards Dumas, a 48-year-old man from Rialto, deputies mentioned.
On July 22, Dumas was taken into custody on suspicion of Annoying and Harassing Calls to Emergency Traces and Interfering with Emergency Providers. Dumas was booked at West Valley Detention Heart, SBSD mentioned.
Authorities consider Dumas could also be linked to extra harassing calls to emergency providers all through the Inland Empire.
