OAKLAND — A person apparently mendacity within the roadway died Friday morning after he was struck by a pickup truck in East Oakland, authorities mentioned.
Authorities had been making an attempt to substantiate the person’s identification Friday afternoon.
The deadly collision occurred about 10:30 a.m. Friday within the 9100 block of Worldwide Boulevard.
Police mentioned that in keeping with witnesses, the person was mendacity within the roadway when he was struck by the truck. Why he was within the roadway stays beneath investigation, police mentioned.
The person was pronounced lifeless on the scene at 10:39 a.m., police mentioned.
Police mentioned the truck driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
Police mentioned it isn’t but identified if medication or alcohol had been elements in what occurred.
Streets within the space had been shut down whereas police investigated.
