OAKLAND — A person who apparently was operating throughout Interstate 880 suffered deadly accidents Sunday evening when he was hit by a automobile, the California Freeway Patrol stated.
The person’s title was not instantly launched.
The deadly collision occurred about 11:13 p.m. Sunday within the southbound lanes of I-880, north of twenty ninth Avenue.
The person was apparently attempting to run throughout the freeway from the south shoulder when he was struck by a automotive within the quantity two lane and ended up within the lane closest to the middle divider, the CHP stated.
CHP Officer Adib Zeid stated CHP officers supplied first assist to the injured man on the scene earlier than he was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The CHP was notified by the hospital at 12:12 a.m. Monday that the person had died, Zeid stated.
Zeid stated the driving force that hit the person remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The southbound lanes of the freeway had been shut down for about quarter-hour whereas the CHP investigated and had been utterly reopened by 11:45 p.m.
