
Wildfires that began Tuesday on Maui have burned a minimum of 20 sq. miles (13,000 acres), together with the coastal city of Lahaina.
The map above reveals the areas of hotspots recorded by NASA’s Hearth Data for Useful resource Administration System as of Wednesday morning.
The fires had been whipped up by the winds of Hurricane Dora. Energy was lower to about 14,000 residences, and 911 communications had been down throughout the island.
