PLEASANT HILL — A driver died Tuesday afternoon after the automobile he drove misplaced management and slammed right into a pair of poles, the California Freeway Patrol stated.
Authorities early Wednesday recognized the motive force as 26-year-old Walnut Creek resident Akmaljon Khakimov.
The crash occurred about 2:05 p.m. on Coggins Drive. CHP Officer Brandon Correia stated the black BMW sedan Khakimov drove was going east on Coggins when it crashed because it came across the intersection at Las Juntas Method.
The BMW collided with a concrete curb after which hit two steel poles, Correia stated. After hitting the poles, the BMW flipped, Correia stated.
Khakimov died on the scene.
