BETHEL ISLAND — Emergency and cleanup crews had been dispatched to the scene of a sunken boat that was leaking gasoline and oil into the San Joaquin Delta on Monday.

Items from a number of businesses had been helping with the spill, in response to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Workplace.

“A submerged tug boat within the Empire Tract space, close to Herman and Helen’s, is presently leaking diesel gasoline and oil into the Delta Waterway,” the sheriff’s workplace reported in a social media submit.

Herman and Helen’s is a long-shuttered marina in Stockton on West Eight Mile Highway.

The boating unit and floor models from the sheriff’s workplace had been on the scene to assist coordinate efforts to cope with the oil and gasoline leaks.

“We now have contacted exterior businesses to help, together with Environmental Well being, Workplace of Emergency Companies, Fish & Wildlife, Woodbridge Hearth Division, and the U.S. Coast Guard Air pollution Response Workforce,” the Sheriff’s workplace acknowledged Monday.
